Le geste est franc. Il taille le paysage. Ses peintures semblent relever de ces calcaires italiens, dites pierres \u00e0 images qui une fois tranch\u00e9es, laissent deviner des vues pastorales. La pa\u00e9sine, tel est le nom de cette fantaisie min\u00e9rale, se forme selon une lente s\u00e9dimentation fractionn\u00e9e par les mouvements de tectonique. Enfouie dans des gisements ant\u00e9diluviens, c&rsquo;est bien l&rsquo;action de l\u2019\u0153il humain qui vient d\u00e9biter puis polir cette roche afin d&rsquo;en r\u00e9v\u00e9ler le panorama. La peintre coupe pareillement dans sa mati\u00e8re iconographique. Elle fouille la texture de films amateurs ou promotionnels, d\u00e9crypte pour mieux d\u00e9crire ces documents que l&rsquo;on regarde peu, pas, plus. Ses captures d&rsquo;\u00e9crans se font au sens propre. L&rsquo;artiste chasse la bonne composition durant des s\u00e9ances de trois \u00e0 cinq heures de visionnage \u00e9lectronique, derri\u00e8re son moniteur, comme on p\u00eacherait avec patience et tact. Puis \u00e7a mord. Il existe ce fabuleux mot, pittoresque. Digne d&rsquo;\u00eatre peint. Et d&rsquo;un enregistrement \u00e0 l&rsquo;autre, la trappeuse vagabonde avec cet objectif. Elle confie sa gourmandise pour les filtres que les autres placent entre la Nature et elle. Ces retranscriptions sont un soulagement. Une herborisation sur le motif l\u2019horrifierait par la prolif\u00e9ration des d\u00e9tails, alors qu&rsquo;elle cherche justement \u00e0 condenser les sensations. La brosse est son outil de pr\u00e9dilection, pour appliquer la couleur tout en l&rsquo;\u00e9tirant en flux continu. Le balayage cathodique est respect\u00e9. Son envie d&rsquo;infini se lit dans la flagrance des hors-champ qui visent \u00e0 ne jamais rien enfermer. Les figures de ses d\u00e9cors sont d&rsquo;ailleurs toujours dans des espaces ext\u00e9rieurs, en marche vers je-ne-sais-quoi. Une mise en abyme s&rsquo;op\u00e8re avec ces regardeurs d\u00e9doublant l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience des parages de Marine Wallon.&nbsp;<br>\u00ab J&rsquo;ai un rapport assez claustrophobique aux choses. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">Jo\u00ebl Riff, 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><code>ENG<code>\u2014\u2014<\/code>\u2014<\/code> Marine Wallon cuts. The gesture is frank, it clips the landscape. Her paintings are like Italian limestone, known as stones with images, that once sliced, reveal pastoral landscapes. Ruin marble, the name given to this mineral fantasy, is formed by a slow sedimentation fractionated by tectonic movements. Buried in antediluvian deposits, it is the action of the human eye that comes to cut then polish the rock in order to reveal the panorama. The painter cuts into her iconographic material in the same manner. She scours the textures of amateur and promotional films, decoding these documents that we watch very little, not at all, or perhaps, no longer. Her screenshots are done literally. The artist hunts for a good composition during three to five hour sessions of watching things behind her monitor, as one would fish with patience and tact, before something bites. There is this fabulous word, picturesque. Worthy of being painted. From one video to another, the hunter wanders with this goal. She confides her greed for filters that others place between nature and herself. These transcripts are reliefs. To botanize the motif would horrify her by the proliferation of details, as she seeks precisely to condense sensations. The brush is her tool of choice, to apply color while stretching it in a continuous flow. Cathodic scanning is respected. Her desire for infinity can be read in the flagrance of the off-screen that aims to never confine anything. The figures in her decors are always placed in exterior spaces, moving towards who knows what.
