En rendre compte est le parti que prend Marine Wallon avec <em>Cordoama<\/em> (2022), montrer comment une plage, avant d\u2019\u00eatre un paysage fig\u00e9 dans ses constituantes g\u00e9ologiques et g\u00e9ographiques, est un site anim\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un bord de mer ? C\u2019est-l\u00e0 bien plus, en effet, qu\u2019un espace topographique \u30fc une cristallisation de formes, plut\u00f4t. Se c\u00f4toient, le long de l\u2019estran, le liquide de l\u2019eau, le solide de la terre et l\u2019impact de la lumi\u00e8re sans compter, au-del\u00e0 de l\u2019image, bruit, odeurs et souffle de l\u2019air. Toute vue d\u2019un bord de mer, mobile d\u00e8s que l\u2019air se secoue, et bient\u00f4t ent\u00eatante, est attractive. Ce potentiel d\u2019attraction donnera naissance, entre autres repr\u00e9sentations, aux fameuses <em>Vagues <\/em>roulantes d\u2019un Gustave Courbet, t\u00e9moignage de \u201cla mer, la mer sans cesse recommenc\u00e9e (Paul Val\u00e9ry <sup>1<\/sup>) dont le cycle vient buter sur la gr\u00e8ve. Le tableau <em>Cordoama<\/em>, huile sur toile en vue a\u00e9rienne que Marine Wallon consacre \u00e0 la plage sablonneuse de Cordoama, au Portugal, connue pour ses rouleaux appr\u00e9ci\u00e9s des surfeurs, son \u00e9cume abondante et son arri\u00e8re-c\u00f4te rocheuse, na\u00eet d\u2019une m\u00eame attraction pour le mouvement des vagues. \u00c0 coups de brosses rapides, l\u2019artiste y juxtapose les \u00e9l\u00e9ments concurrents de ce bord d\u2019Atlantique saisi pour l\u2019occasion sous une lumi\u00e8re blanche, furieux c\u00f4t\u00e9 liquide et sage et repos\u00e9 c\u00f4t\u00e9 terre. Marine Wallon\u2019s <em>Cordoama <\/em>(2022) sets out to show how a beach, before being a landscape frozen in its geological and geographical components, is a living site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A seafront ? It is much more than a topographical space \u30fc it is a crystallisation of forms. Among the foreshore, the liquid of the water, the solid of the earth and the impact of light coexist, not to mention, beyond the image, the noise, smells and the breath of the air. Any view of the seaside, shifting as soon as the air moves and soon becoming mesmerising, is attractive. This potential for attraction gave rise, among other representations, to Gustave Courbet\u2019s famous rolling <em>Waves<\/em>, a testimony to \u201cthe sea, the sea endlessly renewed,\u201d <sup>2<\/sup> whose cycle crashes against the shore. The painting <em>Cordoama<\/em>, an aerial view in oil on canvas that Marine Wallon dedicated to the sandy beach of Cordoama in Portugal, known for its rollers popular with surfers, is abundant foam and its rocky inner shore, was born out of this same attraction to the movement of the waves. With rapid brushstrokes, the artist juxtaposes the competing elements of this Atlantic coastline, captured for the occasion in white light, with its furious liquid side and calm, peaceful landward side.
